Gregory Smith M. DIV., LPC is the founder of Greg Smith Counseling; he is a licensed professional counselor and an ordained minister. Between his sophomore and junior year at Auburn University Greg joined, and served, four years in the United States Navy. Upon returning to Auburn he completed his undergraduate degree and then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity Degree.
Greg's early professional career concentrated primarily on the practice of psychiatry. He has been a therapist, clinical director, and administrator for psychiatric programs and hospitals in Texas, Alabama, and Florida.
In 1993, he moved back to his hometown of Auburn and was hired by East Alabama Medical Center as Director of the psychiatric department. In 2000 Greg opened his own private practice, The Pastoral Care and Counseling Center (eventually renamed Greg Smith counseling), where he provided Christian-based therapy.
Greg has been married to his wife Debbie for forty years and they are parents of twins Matthew and Emily.
